JOTA (Jamboree On The Air)

This weekend RRRC hosted several scouts for the weekend for Jamboree on the Air (JOTA).
Several scouts completed the required on air contacts to earn their merit badges.
The club trailer was used as well as a few other operating setups.

Attached Are a few photos from the event. One photo shows the club trailer setup.
Unfortunately, our vertical support mast succumbed to the 40 plus MPH winds as seen in one photo.
One is Len, KB9GDY in his trailer set up to make contacts with local scouts.
Most work was done on 40 meters and the use of a flagpole on site helped erect the 40 meter dipole.

On Sunday morning, Ryan,KB9OWD as well as Len, KB9GDY and Dennis, KC9ICA discussed several areas
of ham radio with scouts for an additional merit badge.
The group photo attached is of Len and Dennis discussing station grounding with Scouts and showing
the importance of station grounding how grounding is achieved in our emergency trailer.
